Description

Stearic acid is a solid and waxy substance, with a form of chain saturated fatty acid with 18 carbons, which is considered to be the most common saturated fatty acid.

Features and Advantages:

• Insoluble in water and soluble in ethanol
• Cleaning and soap properties
• Lubricating properties

Applications:

• It is used in the prediction of candles, plastics, food supplements, oil pastilles, and cosmetics. Additionally, it is very useful for softening the rubbers.
• Widely used to harden different types of soaps, especially soaps made with vegetable oil.
• Since Stearic acid has cleansing and emulsifying properties, it is used as a surfactant in detergents and cosmetics,
• One of the most common lubricants used during ceramic powders injection and pressing in the mold.
