Description

Triethanolamine is an alkaline compound used to neutralize acidic compounds and modify the pH of various formulations. This substance is used instead of soda or in combination with it.

Features and Advantages:

• Soluble in water
• Alkalizing agent
• Ammonia-like smell

Applications:

• Triethanolamine is primarily used as a surfactant which reduces the surface tension between two media.
• Triethanolamine is used to neutralize fatty acids, adjust pH and buffer the solutions in the formulation of liquid detergents, cosmetics, and etc.
• Triethanolamine is used as an intermediate agent in the production of surfactants, special textiles, waxes, polishes, herbicides, oil dischargers, toiletries, cement additives, and cutting oils.
• Used as a corrosion inhibitor in the production of lubricants.
• Used as an illustrious in 3D photos.
• Used in textile industry as a cleaner and bleacher for fibers and wool.
• Triethanolamine is used in the pharmacy in order to formulate salts for injectable solutions and in analgesic preparations.
